About
The Health Literacy Collaborative Summit is a dynamic gathering where health professionals from diverse settings come together to spark ideas, build partnerships, and drive solutions to elevate health literacy. Designed to equip participants with practice tools, fresh insights, and actionable strategies, the summit ensures that attendees leave ready to apply what they've gained in their own communities.

The history
From 2004 to 2022, Wisconsin Health Literacy (WHL) hosted the traditional Health Literacy Summit event to bring together interprofessionals from diverse fields to share practices and strategies to support individuals, families, and communities. In 2024, WHL partnered with other states to host the first Health Literacy Collaborative Summit (HLCS).
This upcoming Summit, in April 2026, is hosted by the newly formed Health Literacy Collaborative, will be held at UNT Health, with support from Health Literacy Media and the United States Health Literacy Association will continue to bring together a variety of professionals from health care, community-based organizations, libraries, health insurance, health information technology, and public health. It will continue to emphasize health literacy experience, and practical approaches and strategies, leading to a rich regional health literacy event.
